This comic briefly showcased my auntie’s life journey, similar to millions of other Chinese women’s stories, untold in different lifetimes. Growing up in China, I have seen countless women who are just like my auntie, they work day in day out for their family, unappreciated, diminished, taken for granted. But I want to let the world know that their stories, Tsan di’s story, are worth telling even if they can be devastating.
Nobody wants to be remembered as nothing more than “someone’s mother” or “someone’s wife”. Because we’ve come to this world to discover who we are as a person - to live for ourselves before we live for others.
